This is my new toy I picked up for 500 bucks.
This is my first crawler project, and it's the second Scout I've ever owned.
The first was bought and sold when I was like 16, so I'm still learning about these.
I'm in the right place for that though, cause I have been checking out some awsome builds you guys are doing, and I'm picking up alot of great ideas to use on mine
, not sure the wife will be happy with me though,
I think I see alot of mac-n-cheese and cup o'noodles in our future
.
Anyway, I'll be adding to this with updates as it goes along, but funds are tight, so bear with me, lol.
I'm thinking something like full width GM axles,ff14 bolt rear, hd Dana 44 front ( upgrade to a 60 when cash allows), 12 superlift springs, and 39" swampers or similar, on h1 rims.
Is there anyone here who has done something similar, who might have some advice on what to do, or not to do, as far as that set up is concerned ??????

It's a 1979 Scout traveler
345 v8
automatic, I'm guessing 727, but not sure how to tell.
Not sure what transfer case ( what can I take a 300 t case out of, that would bolt up to my trans ???)
Dana 44's front and rear
lot's of previous owner surprises, and factory rust, lol.
If anyone has any pointers or notorious Scout gremlins that I should check for, I'm all ear's.
