As some of you know, I had to pull my 727 back apart to replace a rear clutch seal that was damaged which caused (susposly) no forward movement.
Anyhow, after installing new seals on the rear clutch and making sure nothing was damaged on the reassembly.. I still have the exact same problem.. It has strong reverse, but no forward/ breakaway. Even placing in 2 or 1 has same problem.
What ive done differnt on the original rebuild? I replaced the accumulator piston with a aftermarket one from patc. Its made from heaver aluminum with 4 seals on it istead of the factory 2. Ive also dissasembled and cleaned and rebuilt the valve body. I did make sure everything was put back in properly... The valve body is stock with no "kits" installed. When I did the air test.. I heard the "thud" from the rear clutch, but I was only able to do it one time. If I kept adding additional bursts of air to it, it made no other noises. The front clutch made noises every time I added air to it. The piston moved freely when I asembled it. The only things I did to the oil pump was replace the sealing rings on the shaft. I did remove the oil pump vanes but they looked like they go back in either way, but its possible they went back in backwards but I couldnt find any differances in how they look.
According to the clutch/ band apply chart, when selector is placed in "d" only the rear clutch is engaged. Since I know that the rear clutch is "good", all I can see is the valve body or accumulator piston causing the problem. No parts were interchanged from the other transmission I have since I do know that its differant. Thanks. It has 80-90 psi oil pressure when in "d" or any of other forward gears over 1000 rpm. I have a gauge on the accumulator piston housing apply fitting.
