Manual Transmission on a '77 Scout

Will a Scout with a 6:1 first gear and an upgraded 3:1 Dana 20 or an upgrade of a Dana 300 4:1 be low enough gearing for rubicon style wheeling without stalling the motor?
 
Stalls are always possible. Are you thinking 35 inch tires? I think that gearing would be great….
 
I'm thinking something like a tire size of 35's, but I dont know what ring and pinion gearing ratio I'll be using. I guess I'll use whatever it takes.
