Loss of a dear friend

I had to say goodby to my golden retriever, sam this morning. I have had him for 12 years and was the best dog I ever had. He had a heart as big as a truck and loved every body. He was suffering from bad hips, blind and deaf. So he is in a better place.

Wow man, sorry to hear that. Its amazing what a huge part of the family a dog can become. Our dog is a huge part of my family and life. Your ol dog is in a better place now with all the junk he'd ever want to fetch and places to inspect! Keep your chin up man, my prayers are with your sam now.

Ron, sorry to hear of your loss.I can truly say I know the feeling. Had to put down my 11 yr old rot. It's been a few years now and I still miss him. But now I think about all the funny stuff. Like the time he pee'd on the Christmas tree . Then tore it down. And humpin the santa in the yard lol . Trust me it gets better but it takes awhile. My thoughts are with you and your family. Hope sam runs into magnum in the better place, cause as saintly as the are there's got to be one.

More ruff times ron...and dawgs are very important members of our fambly unit. But his suffering is over and only a dawg can fight to keep going no matter what. They know when it's time, far more evolved than us folks in my opinion.

Hope momma can get through loss ok (as well as yourself), this has not been a good year for our dawgfriends.

Matt, tow.., michael, thanks for yur condolences. I just keep thinking of all the good times we have had with sam. He loved riding in the Scout, so I feel he riding around in a Scout up on the "big trail"
thanks
ron

I feel your pain ron. My black lab rosie went duck hunting up their with my grandfather two years ago. I haven't hunted ducks since then, just isn't the same.
