I got side tracked while working on the Scout and forgot the key in the run position for about 10 minutes. Now I have no spark. Did I smoke the coil or gold box?
 
Test the coil, primary resistance continuity should be 1.4>2.0 ohms. Secondary resistance in the range of 4>5k ohms. I seriously doubt doing this will take out the coil, but I haven't tested that situation.

The test procedure for the gold box amplifier and the trigger unit are outlined in the service manual, though they describe the use of a special tool. However you can do most of the testing without the tool using only a voltmeter.
 
Ok, its all good now. I am not sure what I did but it worked for a minute.
I got irritated and yanked all the wireing out. A kwik wire kit that I got from Jeff that was in the buggy is going into the dd tomorrow.
