LEAN DOWN ON DRIVER SIDE

OK - So this is probably old news to many of you but this is my first Scout so it is new to me and thus I am trying to learn as much as I can about these beast!

1974 Scout II 4X4
V8 345

I have been told that Scouts have a natural lean down on the driver's side and that is just the way they came off the production line and to fix it the engineers put a spacer on the passenger side. I have also heard that because of the engine and drivetrain there is so much torque that the engineers designed the driver side to sit lower at idle / off but when the vehicle was in motion the torque would lift the driver side up a bit to compensate for the lean. Never the less mine has a lean to it. I have measured the axle to the ground and they are the same on both sides. The body mounts are all the same size and in new condition. The truck has never been in an accident.

Is this just the way it is when sitting still or is there anything that appears to have been done wrong? Any suggestions / thoughts would be helpful.

See attached photos of how it is set up.

Thanks

Just a thought, dont know about the engineering stuff you mentioned, but I have a project truck (not ih) that had a lean to it, and I measured axles, body mounts and was very perplexing untill I noticed in front one spring had broken and was patched, with a weird makeshift spacer setup on the same corner. Check your springs/spacer dimentions, it has to be inbetween your axles/frame. Just curious to what you find.

One small thing I just noticed in your pics, the pads between your rear axle and springs dont look the same. You might check that.
