First let me introduce myself briefly. Name is andrew from the central coast of California. This is my third Scout II. I originally bought one because I could not afford a k5 blazer. I took the entire thing apart in my garage and with a lot of help from friends (mostly them and not me) put it back together. Then I was able to afford a k5. Bought it and within 6 months hated it and wanted a Scout again. So I sold the k5 and bought another Scout. Had a guy rebuild much of it because I didn’t have the time. Then I sold it when I moved to a new house because I had no room for it. I bought one and plan on making it a daily driver capable of light off-roading. One thing I really missed was the helpful IH community. Not to mention just a awesome rig. I was excited to see IH only having their own forums.
Fast forward six years later and I just could not deal with it anymore. Well out of site, out of mind, 100's of beers later I cannot remember many of the things I learned working on them in the past. So I hope to find some help as I try and address the things that need to be addressed in the next few weeks and months to make this rig what I want it to be.
First question: is this hole in the center of the first picture where the pcv valve goes? Isn’t there supposed to be a rubber grommet in there for the pcv valve to fit into.
The second picture has what was in it next to what I bought. I didn’t pull the old crusty hose of what was in it because I was afraid I wouldn’t get it back on until I get the right equipment.
