Inline 6 to 345 swap

How difficult is it to swap the stock inline 6 to a 345 on a 74 Scout? Are there any fitment issues, and will it bolt straight onto the manual 3 speed?

I have a 75 that someone pulled the 296 out of and put in a 258. Think you will find that the motor mounts and transmission mounts will have to be relocated. The fours and eights had different frames than the sixes. Bell housing will not work either, but it will probably be easier to find the v8 bell housing, clutch linkage, power steering mounts, and alternator mounts than inline the 6 parts. I wouldn't chuck the inline 6 parts, they are harder to locate. Also try and find a t19.

You will need a IH sv bell housing for the same three speed and or if the existing 3 speed's input shaft will not accommodate the sv bell you will need an sv 3 speed. At that point I would go to an sv spec'd 4 speed.

You will need to weld in new engine mounts for the sv also.
