IHSTO Tree Cut at IHGRAMPS! December 6th!

Members and friends,

ken roth of the famed ihcs has offered to let those members of IHSTO that would be so inclined and probably less brave than those who are attending the December 13th snow run and tree cut to come to his place and cut Christmas trees on Saturday, December 6th from 10 a.m. To 4 p.m.

Costs of trees are very reasonable at a maximum of $20.00, so bring an andrew jackson with you when you come.

Hot chocolate and coffee (and possibly other tasty things) will be available, but please bring a Christmas treat to share (something donut, cookie, pie, or otherwise) that you can leave behind if you don't stay the day.

follow hwy 99e in a sw direction (past chus towards salem) look for signs to mount angel. Turn left at stoplight at the intersection of young st and 99e. Young st will turn into wilco hwy. Follow wilco hwy through mt angel into silverton. Once in silverton you will pass a les schwab on the right and a roth’s grocery store on the left. take exit 260a which is the keizer exit head east on chemawa rd. Chemawa rd will turn into hazelgreen when you cross portland rd(99e) follow hazelgreen (which will turn into pine st) all the way into silverton. You will come to a stop sign at the intersection of pine and james st. Turn right go one block then turn left onto water st. Once on water st you will go through one stop sign then turn left at the second one. This will put you on main st. Follow main st up a steep hill until you come to a t. Turn right this will put you on steelhammer rd. Steelhammer will make a 90degree corner to the left and turn into evans valley rd. From that corner we are the second place on the left. You will see internationals in the parking lot and the ground is stained red with IH rust.. :)


from salem:
get on silverton rd and head towards silverton. Stay on silverton rd(which turns into mcclain st) until it comes to a t. Turn left this will put you on main st. Cross the bridge over silver creek continue follow main st up a steep hill until you come to a t. Turn right this will put you on steelhammer rd. Steelhammer will make a 90degree corner to the left and turn into evans valley rd. From that corner we are the second place on the left. You will see internationals in the parking lot and the ground is stained red with IH rust..

I went over to ihcs tree farm just this last sat with my family. Ken's been in the tree business for more years than I've been alive most likely and his trees, mostly nobles, are perfect. He has a very large farm with 6 - 8 ' trees all lined up nice and pretty and waiting for someone to cut em down. We have a big house so I grabbed two, one for each end.

I give my personal endorsement for ihcs Christmas trees. Can't go wrong and you might even find a few parts hidden in the limbs. But don't cut down the parts tree, all that stuff would be left unprotected in the open environment!

I have pics but I will have to post them a little later.
