Or should I say infects another…
those of you that have made the meetings lately May have met kurt. He is the brother-in-law of Craig the guy that just bought the sr2. Anyway we have been looking for an 80 for kurt for the last month. Saturday while I was playing at the beach, Dad, Craig and kurt brought this home from albany. Some of you May remember it from the gwbb 2 years ago. It was for sale then and at that time it had a winch on it. We drove it then but passed on it. Since then the winch was sold to another IHSTO member who then passed on the sellers phone # when he heard of our search. Once again the club network comes through again.
this rig has had the same owner for 34 years. It is super straight. There is a bit of the fuel tank/quarter panel rust on the passenger side. But overall it is a real nice Scout. Kurt hasn’t stopped grinning… :p
this is kurt (right) standing with the po.

After all I have gone through with the lrw tailgate. I'm so jealous of this one. Straight as a string and no rust..:prrr:

I wish kurt many days of happy use and fun learning on the 'ol girl! I recall the engine compartment was as about as virgin as they come. About a year or so ago I had the "opportunity" to add her to my collection, but parted with only the winch. With some daughters still in school, I already had enough junk iron to git going with just enough dinero to go around.

Good luck!

What year is it? It has roll up windows(63-65) but a 61 tailgate. I can't tell if the bulkhead is removable or not. That would help determine is actual year. Licence plate is in the wrong place for any 80/800 too. I'm just giving you guys a hard time! Great job keeping these things in good hands. Last time I had a good 80....... Well, you know the rest.

It is a 61. At least that is the year it was built and sold. Bulkhead is not removable and it had sliders until the po installed the roll up windows. As for the last time you had a good 80-this one will not be hacked up & thrashed by someone with no respect for IH history.:hand: it was a promise that was made befor po would sell.:yesnod:

I sold the original owner a manifold or heads or something 4-5 years ago when he was working on the Scout...

It didn't look that nice the first time I saw it. Nice score!!!

I'll try to post up some more and better pictures. These were all taken by the ihcs "jv team"
