Well I just got a smoking deal on a warn 16.5ti winch!
Going to mount it on my 4x4 1210 travelette.
I had planned originally to just make a front reviver for it with a home made multi mount. Using square tube and mount it to the front spring hanger holes. I know its not ideal. I planed on over building it and adding something to the frame to help tie it in. But wanted to make it removable, so when I get home for good and have time to build an actual winch bumper I can just unbolt the receiver hitch.
But I am afraid it will pull the front frame off using the front spring hanger hole. I though about enlargin the size of the bolts and adding some reinforcement. To them.
Any ideas to mount it like that without adding a winch bumper? Ie frame reinforcement? I am going to maker the winch carrer out of 1/2 plate.
I want to keep the stock bumper for now and have the winch removable. I know the winch is pig heavy but I am no wimp either to remove and reinstall it. Listed weight is 138#
