i dont know anything about the FI tech timing set up.
I have a carburetor and I'm at 5,500 feet elevation and i run 87 octane gas, i have about 12 BTDC (its hard for me to read that 46 year old timing mark) at idle.

over the years iv tried all sorts of timing adjustments, what worked best for me is to advance it till it pings/knocks, and then back off till it stopped. i imagine that is what the FI tech will do, advance till a ping then back off is that how they work ?

Typically with timing control on a fuel injected IH engine I'll start with 15 degrees at idle, 32 degrees max timing under load and around 38 degrees total timing when cruising. You can fine tune from there to fit your particular needs.

Many thanks! Greatly appreciated
