I've been messing with these old scouts for a long time. Just haven't ever made the jump to fuel injection. Well, I have a ole 1976 Scout that I making a offroad rock trail rig and needless to say I need the fuel injection..so this thing will never see pavement ever..offroad only..what do you guys recommend for the afi kit? I have a stock motor, 35" tires, 5:38 gears, auto, this rig is a body and rollcage..nothing else..so no ac or doors even...:) I'm trying to get by as cheap as possible but I want it to work great..would like to use the prestolight stock IH distributer that came out in 79-80...so if you guys don't mind, tell me your opinions..of what you know to work best..I have read all the posts and havent really found the answers I'm looking for...

Thanks

If you want to build it on the cheap -- build your own Chevy TBI system for the Scout. You will be much happier in the end than buying a prebuilt system.

You can also convert you prestolite to run your efi system...

Google up the IH TBI FAQ's and start reading...

I'm getting ready to build my second Chevy TBI system - my first one has been running for years now and I love(d) it.
