I absolutely hate electrical.

How you all doin. I have a '72 Scout that I have been having one hell of a time with the electrical. Unfortunately the owner before me went to town on the wiring and did a terrible job. I have fixed most of the problems but one that keeps coming back and fixing itself. My turn signals and blower motor will both stop working at the same time. All my other lights work even the flashers. This happens on occasion then seems to fix itself for awhile. None of the fuses are blow and the wiring is fine. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to fix it. Do these share a ground? Anything would be helpful. Thanks

Look at the fuse block really good. The terminals get a horrible thick grey oxide coating on them that is problematic. I have measured 12 volts on both ends of the fuses before, but not seen it on the terminals on the back of the fuse block that go directly to the fuses I measured the 12 volts on. Took my whole fuse block out, sand blasted it (mask off the fuse labeling), and soldered both sides of all the rivets that hold the fuse holders and wire spay lugs on the back together. Have to look at a wire diagram later, but I don't recall the turn signals and blower motor being on the same circuit, so that seems kind of wierd.

Thanks for the advice. I looked at the back and like you said all the terminals had a nice thick layer of oxidation. Cleaned them all off and everything works awsomely now. I always seem to forget that its usually the simplest fix when it come to electrical.
