Have a 73 1110, just received the service manual and there seems to be several types of automatic transmissions…how do I know which one is in my truck? Is the T-407 the most common?

also I have a slow drip from the transmission oil pan. Was going to replace the gasket. Seemed like it would be an easy project, please tell me I don’t need to remove the tranny to replace the gasket

‘73 would have the T-407, which is the Chrysler TorqueFlite 727.
You can change the pan gasket and filter in-situ.

Also, l prefer to use the “new” style of gasket from the local Chrysler/Mopar dealer. Not the cork gasket.
l also replace the pan bolts with the new longer bolts from the dealer.
Be careful not to overtorque the bolts and strip the threads in the aluminum case.
