• it’s been awhile since we’ve done a day run. Usually it’s an overnighter. The “IH winter nationals” makes it a 3-day party. For the old schoolers, would this be the winter nats 20th year?
• good to see randy again.
• Craig’s wife tracy and daughter terra made it family day. Terra was a trooper through the jungle. One tired and dirty little girl at the end of the day. After their hollister burger/burrito run, I bet’cha they weren’t even to 101 before she fell asleep.
• Sean’s starter quit and he had to be winched out of the jungle. Randy had his snatch block handy. A few years back, I watched rocktractor coordinate an extrication of josh’s buggie from little sluice. When you have the right equipment, things are possible. After that trip I added a snatch block, 8’ chain, and a come-along to my rescue gear. On a side note, I think it would be cool if the local warn sales group could put on a winching-tips demonstration at the rallye.
• it’s been a few years, but I finally drove to a get-together.
I talked with some of the power wagon guys who had duallies and saw how they customized their bed. I thought I was going to modify the 1300’s existing bed, as they initially did with their beds, and all ended up starting from scratch. Message received. Got lots of good ideas.
