I wanted to make a quick post and introduce myself to everyone, now that I'm part of the northwest Scout family
as my username says, my name is joey link. I'm 27 and I've had the pleasure of owning my fair share 4x4's ('79 Bronco, '91 suburban, '75 fj40, and many toyota's). A few months ago I was shopping for a 1st gen 4runner, but there's something about them that lacks the 'feel' of the older rigs that I really missed. I decided to see what my other options were, which is when I discovered the International Scout. Many of my fondest memories were made in my topless fj40 during the summer time, and the fact that the Scout top came totally off really sealed the deal for me. As I did more research I found out just how cool these vehicles are in terms of their running gear and knew I had to have one. After searching for a few months I finally found the one I'd been searching for, and as a bonus it was already the color I wanted to eventually paint whichever one I purchased! I've posted a build thread here.
In addition to my new Scout fanaticism I also enjoy bmw's, fishing, camping, hiking and firearms. I own the largest firearm website in the northwest, northwestfirearms.com.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you in person, hopefully I'll be able to make the trek down to salem for the next meet!
