Hello Everyone

I wanted to make a quick post and introduce myself to everyone, now that I'm part of the northwest Scout family :icon_mrgreen:

as my username says, my name is joey link. I'm 27 and I've had the pleasure of owning my fair share 4x4's ('79 Bronco, '91 suburban, '75 fj40, and many toyota's). A few months ago I was shopping for a 1st gen 4runner, but there's something about them that lacks the 'feel' of the older rigs that I really missed. I decided to see what my other options were, which is when I discovered the International Scout. Many of my fondest memories were made in my topless fj40 during the summer time, and the fact that the Scout top came totally off really sealed the deal for me. As I did more research I found out just how cool these vehicles are in terms of their running gear and knew I had to have one. After searching for a few months I finally found the one I'd been searching for, and as a bonus it was already the color I wanted to eventually paint whichever one I purchased! I've posted a build thread here.

In addition to my new Scout fanaticism I also enjoy bmw's, fishing, camping, hiking and firearms. I own the largest firearm website in the northwest, northwestfirearms.com.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you in person, hopefully I'll be able to make the trek down to salem for the next meet!

Wow, I just signed up on northwest firearms.com, after a buddy at work recommended it to me. Thanks for putting it up there, our area needed a site like that.

Edit, and welcome! Where are my manners. Let us know if you need anything, we've got about the best club in the world here in oregon. Well worth coming out and saying hi, so we can put a face with the name.

scouts, guns, camping... I think you will fit in around here just fine.

But be warned I'm the gun toting, meat eating, exhaust belching liberal in the group so just don't talk politics with me and you'll be fine ..... :cornut:

side note/rant: not talking or dealing with politics is one of the many reasons IHSTO has been so successful in my eyes, the hippie and the hard core (either side) can come together, drink beer and talk internationals in one of the most open and family friendly environments I have seen. IH's seem to bring people together more than just about anything I've seen....

Thanks for the welcome guys :d

I'm a libertarian, so I'm sure there are quite a few points we'd agree on :cornut:
