Harbor Freight MIG ?

Save up and get a real welder. The hf's have very short whips and ground clamps, the duty cycle is less then desired and the consumables can be impossible to find.

I totally agree with reuben!! I got antsy and wanted a mig sooner than later. But I waited a while b/c I didn't really need it yet. Talked with several pro welders and was advised by all to step up to a 220 unit. I waited and did. I bought a hobart handler 185 @ tractor supply on sale and am completely pleased!!!! The store is close, consumables always in stock, no issues so far. Definitely worth the wait & extra cash!!!! I've heard several times since my purchase "I wish I had gotten a 220 unit!!!" buy it once and be done!!!

Basic rules for harbor frieight tools:

1) does it have a lot of moving parts and does it cost more than $20? <-- don't buy it.

2) does it plug in and cost more than $50? <-- don't buy it.

:d

I had a clark 135/craftsman
