Happy birthday man! Nice new toy! But, I think in order to be a better trail boss you should have bought yourself a fuel gauge..:dita:

Nice radio - I have the same one. My plan is to run it in my Scout, so I don't have a nice installed radio sitting in it all the time getting wet, snowy, dirty, etc. 5 watts is plenty to talk to a guy on the same trail as you.

Thats what I was thinking, (and what terry advised me) plus I can take it in a backpack when im quading or hiking.

Just took a few practice test and passed on 4 out of 6 of them......getting there:icon_rotate:

That was my other plan. I can take it hunting/hiking etc.

If you don't actually talk on it - the batteries last forever, so you shouldn't have to worry about charging it up all the time or grabbing it for the day and finding it dead...

It would be a good idea to cycle the battery occasionally. Turn the radio on and let the battery run down and recharge it. Your battery will last a lot longer. Ask me how I know.
