The 62 s80 already has an externaly regulated alternator mounted, or I would simply install a 10si.
I also have a brand new delco 4 wire regulator mounted.
Now the trick is how to wire up everything...
I have figured out that the f mterminal on the regulator goes to the f on the back of the alternator.
The number 2 terminal goes to the r terminal on the back of the alt.??? (not sure on this one)
the 3 term. Goes to the horn relay and also the + battery term on the starter.
The 4 term. Goes to the idiot light ??? (I also need a 10 ohm resistor in a parrallel circuit don't I?)
now I should point out that the po also added an ammeter by putting it in series with the big blue wire #5 I think. (battery positive which would be #3 on the new regulator)
does this sum it up, or am I in error?
The s80 originaly had a 3 wire regulator, so I am getting a bit of confusion there.
Michael,
the engine sure purrs well with it's new carburator. Soon as I see what nos parts I have left over, I'll be sending some your way.
