Gear math

Mathamagicians - I work with kids. How would you figure, in degrees if a cam and crank gear were a certain number of teeth off? For example, if the cam gear were advanced 1 tooth how much would that equal in degrees. If anyone can provide a formula I would really appreciate it

thanks in advance

At the crank.

360/ number of teeth on crank gear= degree/tooth
applies to crank gear tooth shift.

IH sv has 45 teeth on the crank so 360/45= 8*/tooth

720/number of teeth on the cam gear.
Applies to cam gear shift

IH sv has 90 teeth in the cam so 720/90= 8*/tooth

both work out the same but depending on which gear you read the shift on use the appropriate one
