Gauge panel questions

I have a 79 Scout II that I recently bought, with 345, came stock with 4 speed manual tranny/po converted to tf 727 with d20 tc and has working ac with a saden comp. Also po had a IH only guage panel and isspro gauges installed by a garage(he gave me reciepts of work done). Here are my questions:
does the new panel/ gauges have a cvr?
Do the new gauges work with my stock sending units?
Here are my issues:
oil pressure goes from 0 to full peg over/100 when engine is running, sometimes at idle it will go from 0 to 100 back and forth.
Tach seems to work, but when I shut her off the tach needle stays at 800 rpm Mark.
Speedo doesn't work (this is a broken speedo cable)
temp gauge seems to work (starts out low and climbs as engine warms up)
clock works
ampmeter or voltmeter which ever it is, seems to work but is all over the place, e.I. Low when at idle climbs with engine rpm, at idle with blinker on tics back and forth a little.
Fuel gauge always shows at a hair under 3/4's full (have checked it topped off and after 90+ miles of driving with no change). I have a new (stock style from vendor)sending unit(19 gallon) to r&r, just wandering what else to varify/ check to get this working right.
Also the gauge back lighting and blinker indicator and high-beam indicator lights all work.
What are some ideas to start looking at to correct these issues?

Here is what I've done so far:
cleaned battery terminals and battery posts
grounded battery to engine block, block to frame, and body to frame.
Replaced all fuses in fuse block under dash
visually checked over bulk head connector
also when po converted from manual to auto tranny, I believe they hot wired the nss as she will start up in gear, I'd like to un rig this overide for safety's sake. And the back-up lights are inop(tranny wiring?)
I have a truck service manual for Scout II xlc series number cts-2310 shows for 1976-1977, will I need another manual to cover electrical changes for a 79?
Thanks for any and all replies/suggestions.

It would all depend if they used electrical guages or mechancial guages. Guess you can look at the side of the block and see if there is electric or mechanical for oil and then look to see if they are using the stock temp sender or mechanical that screws in with a long thick black wire.
If they are electric guages, then yes, you can probably assume they used the stock oil and temp connections on the block and intake.
A temp guage will always start out low and then slowly climb. The engine is not at full temp right after starting, it takes a few minutes.
The oil sounds like the sender May be bad. Just get a new one and screw it in.
As for tach, it could just be the way it is designed. I wouldnt worry about it much unless it is showing the wrong rpm while driving.
Sounds about normal for the amp/ volt guage.

I have a set of isspro gauges in my Scout and have been very happy with them. I don't know if you have them but the instructions for the individual gauges they can be had on the company's website. With the pressure gauge I would try tracing the wiring to to the sender sounds like it could just be a loose connection. Had the same problem. If the speedo cable is complete then you might just try lubing it with with speedo cable lube. Just an idea. Shouldn't have a cvr. The gas gauge wiring is probably grounded out causing it to read full or just the wrong gauge. Has the Scout been completely rewired? I would consider doing it,
should fix a bunch of problems and you'll learn a ton.

Thanks for the heads up on the isspro website, I r&r the sending unit since it came with a new one and some other parts I got with the rig(have to replace all the fuel lines back there rotted out), but don't know if that will fix the fuel gauge or not. The sending unit was trashed, so hopefully that was the problem. Did some preventitve on the tank since I have it out. I think I will pick-up a 14 circuit and just rewire everything, after I get done with some other issues first. Stock harness isn't in to bad a shape(I've seen alot worse in my other 77 and my 67 800). Hopefully I'll have time to finish up the gas tank and run down the sending unit wires and read them out tomorrow(it sucks having to go to work in the middle of a project). Thanks for all the suggestions.

Update-I re-installed the fuel tank and topped her off, and the new sending unit was the ticket, only problem is that a full tank reads at "e" on the gauge. Gonna see if I can swap the input wires at the back of the gauge around
and see if that makes it read right. Replaced the loose connector for the oil pressure sending unit and it up, but it still reads the same, gonna try a new sending unit on that.
