Fuel gauge

I read an earlier post similar to this but not exactly my problem. Replaced tank and sending unit in my 79 scoutii 304 2 yrs ago and gauge has been good since. Recently I took my gauges out because my temp stopped working. I cleaned the connection areas etc which happend to be the wire on the sending unit was corroded but, now my fuel gauge will jump to full randomly then start reading accurate. Really weird back and forth yet sometimes its fine hours at a time. Did I mess something up when I took stuff apart? Been in there more then a few times and nev had probs. I also took out speedo and replaced bulbs if that matters. Thanks

If its randomly jumping to full then I would look for a loose wire that is grounding out.

Ok I'll take a look, this truck had horrible wiring from the po. Under dash was like a rats nest. I cleaned up as best I could with out new harness etc.
