Fuel Gauge Question

I have a 67 Scout 800 and I am redoing the wiring and trying to get everything working. All gauges are working except the fuel gauge. My research suggests that my issue is the power to the gauge as the original temp gauge is long gone and the PO had 12V going directly to the fuel gauge.

I guess I have 2 options, I can by the this gauge Part #: ISS-R8693 which appears to be for a 12V connection or I could get a cvr and route the power through it for the fuel gauge.

What would you do. Also note that my oil gauge is aftermarket and I do not need the CVR for this gauge.

Thanks.

Have you grounded the sending unit wire to see if the gauge pegs full?

If your other gauges are aftermarket, I would just install a new fuel gauge with the 78-10 Ohm rating. It will be a bit more complicated to install a CVR and factory fuel gauge, but doable. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.

So the aftermarket gauges do not required the lower voltage to work like the stock gauge?

If so, then I agree, thats the easiest way to get it working.
