Fuel Distribution uneven

RALLYE

I am using Holley pro jection 2d on the stock quadra jet manifold. It utilizes the secondaries (bigger holes in the rear of the engine). This is what the Holley installation recommends. Unfortunately it results in an uneven distribution.

After a recent plug change, I noticed how different the spark plugs were. The pics are of the 4 plugs on the driver side of the vehicle, cylinder 1,3,5,7 you'll notice 1 is very lean, 3 is lean, 5 is Rich and 7 looks good. Since the holes are closer to 5 than 7, I think this is why 7 looks leaner than 5. Obviously 1 being the farthest from the dump is the leanest.

In the original installation on my old truck '79 Scout II which had a 2 barrel manifold on a 304, we bored the 2 holes on ther manifold to accomodate the pro jection and they were centered. Unfortunately, I no longer have this.

Does anyone know if I could bore out a 2 barrel manifold and use it on the 345 or if anyone actually sells these all ready setup for this? Do any companies make aftermarket manifolds that will hook up to the 345 with the ports centered?
Finally, looking at the plugs - how bad is this?

The truck seems to run great. Holley tech support said I would notice more torque, responce, etc. If I were to use an after market manifold that wasn't cast iron and the ports were centered....I don't know if there is such a thing for the 345??

Thanks for any advice

You could easily get a 2bbl 345 manifold and modify it just like your old one.

The only 'aftermarket' IH sv manifold is the IHOnly aluminum intakes and they use the factory configuration for the holes, so that doesn't help you much.

Thanks
yeah, I can get one $75 and a local machine shop said they'd drill out the holes for $30
sounds like the way to go.
My only concern is that I have a 1980 which has a slightly different configuration for the bypass hose andd upper radiator, and I don't know what else... Maybe these things won't matter on the manifold?
