Front Axle 1971 Scout 800B

How do I find out what axle I have on my 1971 800 B scout? Here is a picture of the tag on the axle.

Looks like a Dana 27 with 4.27 to 1 gears.

Most likely a Dana 30 as they stopped using Dana 27's a year or two earlier. Normally a Dana 27 or 30 will have its number cast into the housing. If you can't find that then measure the axle tubes. Dana 27 has 2.25" axle tubes while a Dana 30 will have 2.5" tubes.
