flanged or tapered???

Is there a way to determine whether I have a tapered or flanged Dana 44 without pulling the axles? These are out of a '76 Scout II.

IH did not use "tapered" spicer rear drive axles on any light line vehicle after mid-1969 or so as an oem item.

If the rear axle has a dust cap in the center, which is covering a large castle nut safety'd with a cotter pin, it's a tapered shaft/hub version.
