On my 68 travelette 1200 with the fa-18 axle 12 x 1-3/4 brakes, single piston wheel cylinders. I had an issue while installing new brake shoes.
I had the drums turned, upon reinstallation the drums would not fit over the shoes. I verified that the new and old shoes matched other than the lining wear, and that they fit the drum id properly. Yes the adjusters were at the minimum possible length.
I debated what to do, and seeing that the only thing that could be causing the issue was the adjuster possibly being to long (same ones that came off), I turned .020 off of the swiveling end and the threaded end to the adjuster was not .040 shorter.
After the drums slid on.
I was wondering if anybody had an factory adjuster handy that they could take a fully collapsed end to end measurement of for me? Bottom of each slot would be the correct dimension. Mine measure 3.125 and 3.130. After turning they measure 3.090 +/- a few .001.
