Hi,
not sure which section to post this in, so its here for now.
This question is concerning a fuel filter. The truck has sat around for years, and a new gas tank rebuild is somewhat low on the priority list of things that must be done immediately.
So I'm thinking if I get a good gas filter, will that allow me to put off a gas tank rebuild until later, or perhaps permanently? I'm not talking a cheapo $3 gas filter from walmart, but perhaps one of these from wix?
The first is a 5 micron gas filter with a water separator. And the second is a 2 micron filter only. The base is sold separately on the second one. If one of these is put between the gas tank and fuel pump won't that take care of any gas tank rust and prevent any other gas sludge from harming the engine?
What are the pros and cons of running such a fine mesh gas filter?
What are your suggestions for the best possible gas filtration system available today?
Thank you for your opinions, it is very much appreciated.
