thanks to everybody for their help so far.

I have gone through the wiring, cut out the old and replaced with new. I thought everything went back the way it was or better. But. Got her running today, clicked off the ignition, and the engine was still going. I ran out of time to tonight to finish trouble-shooting, so I thought I would ask for some more advice.

Components involved: bosch relay for starter solenoid, standard alternator (1 big wire, 2 little), ballast resistor, standard ignition switch. Alternator and starter wires are connected in dash and feed fuse panel and ignition.

No ammeter, no cvr, no nss but pieces of nss wiring are still involved in dash.

I can't imagine any of you experienced electrical guys have a diagram for this setup. Please provide any advice or direction that May help in trouble-shooting this tomorrow.

We have a schematic library and here is one for your rig.

Hard to say what you hooked up wrong but you should be able to trace the + coil wire back to the power source. That is why it is not shutting down. That wire needs to be totaly dead when you turn of the ignition switch "off". Also in "acc" it must be dead.. Use a volt metter or test light and place the test leads between ground and the + coil post. If you have more than one wire there, test with each wire one and then pull them one by one. One is feeding powere all of the time.
