Good morning fellas,
I just got done getting my emissions here in Colorado and was wondering if someone could tell me how the old Scout is running. I have a Scout II 345 and an edelbrock 4bbl carb. I passed easy.
Here are the numbers.
Hc at idle 354.0------limits 12000
hc at 2500 253.0----limits 12000
co% at idle 2.44------limits 6.0
co% at 2500 3.34----limits 6.0

just wondering if I am running to Rich or any info…..

Thanks

Yes you are running richer than you need to. I shoot for around 1.5% co idle and cruise, that will increase your mpg slightly over your 3+%, with no loss of power or driveablity, if your ignition is up to snuff.

Thanks eric,
I am in denver at 5,000 feet. So to get the edlebrock to lean out a little is it better to change the jetting or the mettering rods?

Robert k is the best one to ask about that I've got no experience with calibrating edlebrocks.

The edelbrock owners manual does have good directions, it is available on-line as well.

Thanks eric,
I have been reading through the on line thing. 10 or so years ago when I went to the 4bbl I think I did jet down a size, but to tell the truth I dont remember as well any more.
Thanks for all your help
