Dumb rear spring question

I think it's possible that my Rough Country 4" rear leaf springs are on backwards. On a SUA setup, which way should the fat end of the shim that comes as part of the rear springs be facing?

On my setup currently, the fat end of the rear spring shim faces the rear of my 78 Scout II. Just need some confirmation from the pros.

SUA rear, the fat end should go to the front...to point the pinion up.

SOA the fat end would go to the back... Also to point the pinion towards the t-case.

I don't know what the instructions for your springs say. I'm just thinking logic.
