Do I need to run the Holley Gold Box?

Hi all. I have a non-running when purchased 1974 Scout II with a IH 345. It had the Holley Gold Box mounted on the fire wall. If I upgrade my distributor with a Pertronix Ignitor or have a Hamilton TBI with distributor do I still need the gold box? The reason why I ask is my tub is on a rotisserie and I'm going to have all the un-needed holes filled before it gets painted. Thanks.

Short answer, No.

The Holley Gold Box is only utilized when the Holley Electronic distributor is used in stock form.

A PerTronix unit essentially deletes all the Holley electronic parts from the distributor, including the Gold Box from the firewall and the associated wiring.
