Dimmer switch

Looking for a dimmer switch for my 73, 1210. It's the one with the "d" shaped wire harness attached that was made by grote. By "d" shaped I mean the connector on the switch itself is d shaped rather than the rectangular shape of the replacements.

I've only found one on line and they want $119 for it! I was hoping to find one for a little less than that. The cheep pieces of tin @#%$ chinese junk replacement parts they sell won't connect to the wire harness. (after I showed the "nice" girl behind the counter how to find International Harvester on her computer).

Has anyone seen these? I took one out of the box and clicked it with my fingers and thought I was going to break it! No way it's going to last any where close to the 37 year old one I just removed from my pickup. None of the parts stores here have a grote book and none of the parts books they do have show anything like it.

My other option is to make a new wire harness to connect the new switch to the old dash wiring, doable but not my first choice.

Yore overthinking this kevin.

You must have the last rig in existence that has a dimmer switch that has not gone completely under the vehicle through the former mounting location in the toe board that rotted away 20+ years ago. That hole is normally found repaired with a license plate, duktape, and roofing tar.

As Robert mentioned a delco d803, d804, d808, d809, d810 or the very hd, cole hersee #7762.

I replace these switches at least once a month on scouts and fullsize crap with a cheepo chinee pos that is less than $6 and works just fine. Replacement harness pigtails are hanging on the wall ready to splice in, $2.50 locally.
