Diesel mixed with gas.

Ok, I have a question. What would happen if I mixed a little diesel fuel in my gasoline? Would it jack up my carb. I was told it would actually would burn more efficiently. I'm just trying to figure if this is a myth or not.

Won't hurt the fuel system.
What it will do is act as an octane reducer. Doubt anything more. Add some small bit of lubricity to the fuel. All depends on how much you plan on adding.

My father in law says he used to do this.... I think he said he would add a quart or so to a tank. Supposedly it would really improve mpg.
The past few years or so he told me about it when fuel prices were going up. He wanted to try it but was scared to try it on his modern truck because of the computer and such.
