Did I Screw Up? Dropped rear main cap when installing main seal

With out thoroughly doing my homework, I ended up dropping the rear main end cap to get the old seal out and reinstall the new one. It just seemed like the path of least resistance...and it did go in real easy.

I coated the bearing surface on the rear main cap with assembly lube and retorqued to 80 ft/lbs. With the new rear main in place.

I don't know how sensitive the crank bearings are...am I going to develop a knock and destroy the bearing, or will it be fine?

Also, looking for the gasket for the cam bearing boss cover right above the rear main seal. Are these available individually?

You should be fine if things went back together right. Also where did you get 80ft/lb? Recall 90-95 for the 1/2-13 main cap bolts.
Did you replace the rubber side plugs? They are very important to a dry rear main.

Factory manual said 75-85 ft/lbs. So I went with 80.

I installed the new side plugs but used bearing grease as a lubricant. I've since seen recommendations of using hylomar. They went in very tight even with grease, so not sure if I should redo these. Thoughts?

And thanks for the reply! I appreciate it. Oh, and how about that gasket for the cam cover? Available seperately?
