delayed ignition

1973 Scout II, 345 Holley 2 barrel. Tf 727 d.20. Starts great cold. I notice that after it warms up and I go to restart it will not ignite until after key is off the start position. I need to mention that I have the points system out and am using the gold box ignition from my '77 Scout parts rig. Is this a carb situation, or possibly ignition issues?

Does the starter try to crank or ingage when you try to start? Or did this happen when ya swapped the gold box between the two scouts?

Might be a defective gold box if the starter is working like it should. One of the more experienced brainiacs will chime in on this soon enough.
