Dana 300 bull gear question

I have been reading up in almost every forum I can find and still am a little confused about the bull gear for the 300.
I have a 76 Scout II with a 304, t19 and a d20. I assume that the bull gear I have will not work for the 300?
The reason I am asking is I can pick up a Scout 300 for $100 but it doesn't have the bull gear with it. Should I buy it or not? If the gear is as hard to find as some people say would it be worth it to get it or just upgrade my 20?

The input gear or better known as the bull gear is different between a Scout Dana 20 and a Scout Dana 300. Yes the d300 bull gears can be hard to find but are out there. I currently have a manual 6 spline bull gear available for $185 that would work with your t19.

Thanks Jeff, but I think I am just going to twin stick my 20 and when the funds are available put the teralow kit in it.
On a side note I looked through the build on the Scout from ten and it was awesome!!!!!!
Pm sent about the gear.

When ya have time bubba, post the spicer part number off that IH pattern d300 bull gear ya got. I've hadda brain fart about that and what might be a workaround.
