Crushers (carnage report)

Couldn’t have asked for better weather today for an impromptu crushers run with kriston Mike and myself. I’ve been wanting to try the lower loop of the crushers for a while now and after a less then stellar naches run we needed some good wheeling.

On our way to the crushers we hit cedar tree where kriston decided to be super hardcore and shear the ears off of her pass side axle shafts.

Then we headed towards the crushers, which is hands down the best wheeling I’ve ever been on. The lower loop is 3 times as big as the upper loop and at least twice as hard. So about 3/4 of the way through I decide to shear the ears off my pass side axle u-joint. So in 3 wheel drive we winch me about a 1/4 of the way out when the drivers side goes. So with rear wheel drive Mike drags my broken self the rest of the way out, all in all a very successful and typical crushers run!!

Wow! What a great run. The weather could not have been any better. We stopped for lunch in the bottom of the crushers and actually had to look for shade. The carnage was minimal allowing us to get out of the crushers and back to the trailers before dark. Kristion was disappointed that she was turned into a passenger but she has now seen the lower crushers and is ready to attack it next time. Here are a few of the pictures that were taken with my camera. I’ll try to get some video done soon too.

3 psi makes for good traction.

Dboys first broken axle u-joint. The ears had spread on the inner axle. So we had to file and beat on it with a bfh for 45 min to get it out.

Dboys 2nd broken axle and the 3rd of the trip. this one came out a lot easier and we were back to winching within 30 min.

Finished some video of the crusher run. I had it all set to great music and youtube deleted it due to copyright.
