CPT 5" front shackle question

Hi all,

can I solicit your input on the photo below (CPT 5" front shackle kit, '77 sii, 4" suspension lift)? When I got these on, I noticed the passenger (right) side did not line up correctly b/w the frame mount and spring eye.

While the driver's side is perfect, this is where I am on the passenger side. Coming from the oem shackle set up there was no noticeable offset between them. Granted that lengthening that distance vs. Stock would make any misalignment more obvious, I honestly did not notice this prior to now.

Notice the inboard side is forced outward at the bottom, and the outboard shackle has a nice curve in it to meet the spring.

I'm wondering if the 1/2" spring spacer on this side is contributing to this?

Other side is fine and no spacer.
Spring pack is also fully seated on the center pin.
Frame spring mounts are solid and aligned front to back.

Thoughts?

Dumb question here but I have to ask. Have you driven it or is this fresh off the jacks? If you havn't driven it, take it around the block and see if it doesn't settle in.

Edit: also measure the distance between the bolt holes center to center. It is possible that you got a mixed set, the steel stamper could have dropped one in the wrong box and it could have slipped through our qa process.

Are there new bushings in the shackle frame hanger? I would like to see a better picture showing the entire front end. Of the many sets of these shackles that we have sold I have yet to hear anyone have any issues.

Thanks guys for the quick input.

Pics below are of the front end and driver's side.

The spring and hanger bushings are newer urethane.

Scout has about 300 miles on it since install.

Hole measurements line up center-to-center on both sets.

Pass. Side spring u-bolts are centered in their diff. Housing channels, too. So the spring looks straight and mounted flush everywhere it can be.

I don't necessarily think the shackles are in question here.

In your (anyone's) experience, has the 1/2" oem spring pack spacer ever had an impact on aligning longer shackles?

Am I hurting anything by running them like this (other than slightly reducing the strength of the shackles)?

I'll tear it down again this weekend to see what I can do. Don't want to booty-fab anything.

Thanks, again.
Jason

It looks to me like a bad bushing on the passenger side??? What I would do is unbolt the leafsprings from the shackles, let the shackles hang there, loosen the swaybar bolts, make the required adjustments and retighten, then reinstall the springs. Before reinstalling the springs make sure the whole shackle setup swings freely. The lowering block May be whats causing your issue but I'd be surprised if it was.
