Coolant over flow tank hose

Scout II--- stock radiator and stock location of coolant over flow tank

can the hose going from the radiator to the coolant over flow tank be to long?
I replaced the hose and left it a little long, thinking if it ever leaked again near the radiator I could use the slack to cut the bad part of the house off.

By the way thanks IH north for the parts! I have been in the customer service in the auto industry for 13 years, and who ever answers your phones does an excellent job, it was a pleasure ordering from someone that was polite and intelligent. Thank you
 
The overall length of the burp bottle hose is not real critical. But it does need to be routed as level as possible regarding the entire system and trend downward into the bottom of the tank. It should not be led so that it has a deep u bend in it and the length is down around the bumper.

Keep in mind, that hose also sees a vacuum when the radiator is drawing liquid from the bottle, so it must be a fairly rigid piece of material.

the hose is only about 6 inches longer then the original one, I think it will be ok.
What is a good house to use for this? Something like fuel injection house?
