clutch problems

Ok I have come to the conclusion that my clutch is stuck to the flywheel is there any way of fixing this without having to drop the transmission?

A little more info May help:

is the clutch disc (friction material) stuck to the flywheel? Do not know how this would happen -- possibly a slight "mismatch" of the splines / hub on the clutch disc versus the splines on the input shaft.

Or, has the pressure plate "failed" and the clutch is "engaged" even when you push the clutch pedal to the floor?

The 5 speed in my t/a has an "inspection plate" on the bottom of the bell housing?

Does your bell housing have something similiar?

Probably need to pull the trans, but maybe you can get lucky...

Its been sitting for about 19 years and I finally got it to crank a few months back and went and pushed the clutch in and went to put it into first and nothin but grinding gears so ive been told a few times on here and by other people that the clutch is stuck to the fly wheel thats all I know

Try starting it in first gear with the clutch pedal pushed down. That May break it free.

Have you checked the clutch linkage from the pedal to the bell housing?

You can try pushing the pedal in and out a number of times (engine not running) and see if you can break the pressure plate loose from the clutch disc / flywheel.

Wear protective eye wear if you have an inspection plate to remove.

But, you will probably still need to pull the trans and service the clutch.
