Clutch Performance

Hi guys,

been a while. Anyway, the clutch in my Scout is on it's way out after several thousand miles. I always thought that the stock pressure plate for the 10" 4 poppers was just a little to weak. So, my question is, is there a higher spring weight for the 10" clutch? Or is it possible to put an 11" pressure on the short bell 4 poppers?

Gonna pull it apart in the next couple of months. So I want to get my parts list in order.

It's about time you found your way to ihon dan! Welcome!

I'm not trying to mess in Isa's forum here, but I think ya mighta posted in the wrong spot...we do have sub-forum for transmission-related stuff, I'm giving you a few links regarding your question which will take yo there.

I've not messed with my t-18/s80 conversion much more as many other projects (including an engine build) have taken precedent. The tranny conversion (and revised clutch stuff) will be handled while the engine is being wrapped up.

This link is in regards to "if" an 11" clutch assembly will go inside a I-4/pancake bell:

And another route:

Flywheel-related information is contained in this thread:

Personally, I see no advantage to the 11" clutch over a properly set up 10" version that is all fresh with a fresh flywheel surface to match.
