clutch & brake combo master cylinders

Outside of having 1 reservoir to fill rather than 2, is there any other benefit to having this type of master cylinder?
I'm trying to weigh all the pros & cons before I make my purchase. Thank you

61-66 used the dual unit, while later ones used the separate units. You can't just interchange them, the firewall plate is different. The later version is far superior, and you can switch to it if you change your firewall plate or purchase the aftermarket kit with booster.
