Yes...clevite is simply a "brand name" anymore. Though as a brand, they are still true to their quality heritage from the old days.

I have no preference for the durabond "full circle" cam bearings over the clevite and some other brand names which will most likely be finger-joint bearings. The manufacturing design here is not the "cam bearing issue".

When the oem cam bearings were properly maintained though regular oil change and regular "exercise", they can last virtually forever. The oem cam bearings are a finger joint design, not one piece shells.
