Ok
1904 carb
68 800
152 engine
this is what is happening.
It starts fine but will not idel
it has to have to have choke on to keep it running.
I think the accelerator is fine but the linkage to the carb doesn't move much meaning when you stomp /floor it the linkage on the carb does not move much.
Help me please.
Is there something missing?
Thanks

The lack of idle could be several things most of all is the idle screw in far enough to hold the throttle open when the choke is open? Are you certain that the carb is a fresh and quality rebuild? Any air leaks?
If you hold the throttle cracked open will it run at an idle rpm?
Do you have the base timing set to some thing close to 8* btdc?

For your lack of throttle movement, I need a hpoto of the pedal linkage connection to try and sort it out.

Look into the throat of the carb with a light while someone floors the throttle pedal from the driver's seat. Does the throttle butterfly open fully? If not, chase down the various linkage parts and especially where they join together.

That carb can have the two screws holding the bottom to the top of the carb body loose. You have to remove the carb to tighten them.
