Can you identify this linkage? (SII)?

I pulled this off a 1971 810 at a junkyard thinking it would fit right into my 78 but it's nothing like it and whats even more weird is that the 71 had all the wires hooked up nice and tidy to that black thingamajig and looked like it was oem. But every part I look at online it seems there is only one version of the transmission linkage for all sii, all years.

I also pulled with it a giant inverted boot that went way down under the hump and had just a small hole in it for the cable.

Anyone got any ideas?

If...that truly came out of a true "810" with automatic, that shifter is for a borg warner autotrans. Some refer to the Scout II version as a "bw-11".

You are correct, it is nothing like the shifter used with the t-407/tf 727 automatic. Those went into actual production for both the Scout II and the fullsize stuff beginning with the sop for my 1973.

Thanks michael, I'm toying with the idea of just buying the entire 810 from the junkyard because it's actually really complete. It's still got the drivetrain and decent body. Course it'll depend on price etc. I suppose most everything else should be compatible with my 78. Like the top. Body panels. Etc?

Is there anything special about the 810 other than I was just the first Scout II?

About all I can find out online is that it had a sticker in the glovebox that said "810"

thanks
brad
