Brakes

I just got a 1972 1210 and I'm trying to figure out some things with the brakes. What's the best way to identify which ones I have? Another question is why do my brakes lock up when the pedals pushed all the way to the floor but doesn't grab anywhere else?

Q. "What's the best way to identify which ones (brakes) I have?"

A. Get the IHC Brake Code off of the LST for your trucks axles, front and rear.
Then refer to the IHC Service Manual for those brake codes.
The IHC Parts Catalog will also be helpful if you have the IHC Brake Codes.

The 1972 1210 had just a couple of brake options: 4x4 or 4x2, both using Bendix styles.

It will most likely be 12"x2.5" front and rear: https://www.ihpartsamerica.com/store/fs-brk-shoekit-12.html

I haven't finished adding all the pickup brake parts on the store, most are there. You can shop by vehicle and check out the current selection or call us to buy all of them: 530-274-1795
