Originally posted this under basic tech, but I guess it's better off here....I'm replacing the leaky original master cylinder on my 53 r-131 1 ton 2 wd pickup. I'm also replacing the lines, hoses and wheel cylinders with o.e style parts. I'm leaving it a manual, drum setup, but was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to switch to a dual master cylinder with proportioning valve for safety reasons? I'd like to leave the cylinder in the stock location on the frame rail in front of the lower firewall, and keep the original pedal setup. Anyone know of a dual master cylinder that would work, with maybe a modified or replacement push-rod? It would probably have to be a tandem dual set up rather than the later, side by side reservoir type in order to fit in the original location.
