This is my first attempt at doing body work and the rear quarter is where I am going to start. So I wanted to get some ideas on what I should do. Replace the whole quarter, bondo, cut out the bad and put in a good piece, etc.

As a paint and body man for 25+ years imho the best way to cure rust is like cancer cut it out, but if the rust is not substantial as in metal that just braeks away or you can push a pic thru you can mig up the holes grind em and body fill em. The metal on these rigs is real stuff ,so you can work it with ease. If the rust holes arent any bigger than the big one in the pics I'd mig it up. If you can find a repair piece then thats the best way but I'm not sure anyone makes one. But as for puttin a quarter in it I would repair it first. Thats my opinion. Just remember rust is caused by dirt and other moisture holding materials getting between then joints and in the wells. You gotta stop that if you want it gone forever.
I could go on and on but this should give you some ideas on where to start. If you need any advice just ask. :cornut:

Carefully inspect the entire inside of the quarter panels before making a decision. In many cases it's far easier to simply replace the quarter(s) entirely.

However, patch panels for those problematic fender lips are now available but we don't have 'em in the online store yet.

I really don't want to replace the entire quarter mainly because the rest of it is perfect, it's just this section that is bad. This is by no means going to be a show truck, but I do want to eventually get a decent paint job. It is running great, now it's time to look good. I like the idea of filling in the holes with a mig, or a replacement patch. I have a stick welder but no mig, yet:ihih:
